Varmint hunts
Since the early 1990’s we have been one of the only outfitters offering dedicated ground squirrel shooting trips.  We have portable benchrests, sand bags, chairs and even beach umbrellas (for the really hot days).

Several of the ranches we hunt have large agricultural fields and wooded canyons loaded with California ground squirrels (Spermophilous beecheyii).  Most shooters fire between 50 and 150 rounds of centerfire varmint ammo per day!!!  Shots range from 50-400 yards with most shots being between 200-400 yards making consistent hits a challenge for both equipment and shooter.  The squirrels in our area don’t hibernate so we find good shooting year-round as long as the weather is good.  The spring has good shooting but the tall grass can make spotting them rather difficult.
We also offer guided coyote and/or bobcat hunts.  Coyotes can be hunted year-round but bobcat season is only open from mid-October through February.  Typically we hunt by using mouth calls to draw in the predators.  We will be glad to deliver your coyote or bobcat to a quality taxidermist to have a rug or full body mount made.
Guided ground squirrel shooting off of benchrests or coyote or bobcat hunting is $900 per person for an all-inclusive 2-day package with meals and lodging.
The guided hunt only with no meals or lodging is $300 per person per day.
Both types of hunts include transportation on the private ranches and full guide service. Just like our other hunts, we must charge for a minimum of two hunters during the week and three hunters on weekends.
If you want to add ground squirrel shooting off of benchrests or coyote hunting to your boar hunt add $50 per person per day (to the standard pig hunting fees).   Since pigs are nocturnal, our best chance to get them is first light and last light so mixing in squirrel shooting in the mid-day lull is a pleasant pass time and won't hurt your chances of success on pigs.
Add-on's available to other hunts such as shooting instruction, sporting clays, pig hunting or bird hunting can be added to varmint hunts.

Email with questions and for availability.  When preparing for your trip, please keep in mind we are in the "no lead" bullet area, so all your centerfire and rimfire ammo must be loaded with nonlead bullets.file://localhost/Jeffrey%20&%20Jared%20005-5.jpg
